Absolum, the new game fromDotemu, has revealed its first trailer, showcasing a stunning blend ofaction RPG and 2D beat ’em up, set to launch this year.

Absolum — A New 2D Action-Fantasy Rogue’em Up

Dotemu, known for hits like Streets of Rage 4, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and Windjammers 2, continues its legacy in 2025. The French studio is also set to release Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, but that’s not the only surprise this year.

Dotemu has just introduced Absolum, a2D action-fantasy rogue’em up, developed bySupamonks and Guard Crush Games, who also worked on Streets of Rage 4.

Planned forPS5, PS4, Switch, and PC (via Steam), Absolum merges classicbeat ’em up gameplay with roguelite innovation and replayability.

The Story of Absolum

The game takes place inTalamh, a world ruled byAzra, the Sun King, who governs with an iron fist. A group of rebels rises against him, led byUchawi, a sorceress, who grants them forbidden magic. Each hero possesses unique abilities:

Combat is defined bycombos, counters, special attacks, and dodges, pushing skilled players to their limits, all within astunning, animation-quality visual style.

Adding to the experience, the soundtrack is composed byGareth Coker, known for Halo Infinite, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
