Your base inEnshroudedcan become more lively than ever, thanks to the addition of farming in the Frozen Frontiers update. The update introduced the ability to tame any whimsical animals that roam the hills of Embervale, provided they don’t want to eat you, of course.
In addition, there are also four new animals never before seen in Embervale that you may tame and invite back to your farm. Not all animals are available outright, and some are exclusive to quests. If you want to catch ’em all, as they say, we have everything you need to know in this Enshrouded guide.

All Animals and Where to Find Them in Enshrouded
There are a total of eight tamable animals in Enshrouded:
Some animals are easier to find than others, like the Fae Deer and Hophares, that you will be used to seeing around the Revelwood Forests and Springlands fields. Others, like the Cat and Dog, are found exclusively through quests, and the Yak and Frizzy Goats are found grazing in the Albaneve Summits.
The main thing to remember when searching for animals in Enshrouded is not to bother venturing into theShroud. The only things that can survive in the Shroud are Fell enemies, and you most definitely don’t want any of those as pets.

Provides: Goat Milk
Goats can be found in the rolling hills and open fields of the Springlands, the first area you will explore in Enshrouded. You will likely have to search a bit before coming across a herd, as Wolves are, unfortunately, much more common than Goats. But keep searching the grassy plains of the Springlands, and you will eventually come across some.
To tame a goat, you need Goat Food Bait. You can craft some out of the following ingredients with the Farmer.

Hophare are also found in the Springlands, just like the regular Goats are. Like Goats, they aren’t as common as Wolves, but they are still trackable in all the same spots you find Goats grazing in. The Springlands, like all other biomes in Enshrouded, is peppered with enshrouded patches. Don’t bother searching in there, and stick to the green grasses to find your Hophares.
To tame a Hophare, you need Hophare Food Bait. You can craft some with the Farmer using the following ingredients:

Flightless Redtail
Provides: Eggs
Flightless Redtails are large chicken-like animals that can be found roaming around the Nomad Highlands. They are often found around Vukah and large Sabertooth Tigers, so keep your guard up when looking for your Flightless Redtails. Thankfully, their bright feathers make them easy to spot.
To tame a Flightless Redtail, you need Flightless Redtail Food Bait. you may make some out of the following ingredients:

Provides: Companionship
The Cat pet is tamable through a quest rather than being an animal you can find roaming around Embervale. You can begin your search for the Cat by speaking to the Alchemist and receiving theOf Cats and Micequest.
The Cat you are tasked with taming can be found at the Alchemist Tower between the Revelwood and Springlands Ancient Spires. The Alchemist Tower is tucked into the southwestern corner of the Shrouded area found between both towers.
To tame the Cat, you need Cat Food Bait. You can craft it with the Farmer out of the following ingredients:
The Dog is similar to the Cat in the sense that you will also encounter it as part of a side quest. This time, the quest is with the Hunter, and may only be triggered after you manage to tame the Cat. The Hunter knows of a Dog being kept at a Scavenger Camp in Thornhold. Head there to save the Dog from the nasty Scavengers, and make sure you’re prepared for a fight before you head in there.
To tame the Dog, you need Dog Food Bait. You can craft some with the Farmer out of the following ingredients:
Provides: Raw Fae Deer Milk
Fae Deer are relatively common and easy to find in the forests of Revelwood. There is a particularly large amount roaming areas surrounding the Blue Goblet Tavern. There are also Boars and the odd Scavenger around there, too, so keep your eyes peeled while hunting for the Fae Deer.
To tame a Fae Deer, you need Fae Deer Food Bait. You can make it out of the following ingredients:
Provides: Wool
Yaks are the largest of all the tamable animals and are trackable in the Albaneve Summits. The Albaneve Summits is the large, snowy, mountainous area spanning the Embervale map’s northern part. you’re able to access this biome via the Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes Desert.
The Albaneve Summits is a harsh and cold environment. Don’t forget to rug up in your newEnshrouded Twitch Drop outfitif you have it!
To Tame a Yak, you need Yak Food Bait. you may craft some with the Farmer out of the following:
Frizzy Goat
Provides: Frizzy Goat Milk
The Frizzy Goat is a different species of goat found in the Albaneve Summits. It is quite similar to the Springlands Goat but is darker in color and has two sets of horns, the bottom ones being longer and curved than their Springlands counterparts.
Even though the Frizzy Goat is technically a different species than the regular Goats of the Springlands, you can still tame it using the regular Goat Food Bait.
Where to Keep Your Animals in Enshrouded
Once you tame your new furry friends, you will need a suitable place to keep them. The farmable animals, like the Hophares, Goats, Yaks, and Flightless Redtails, will need to be kept in a confined area, like a paddock, so they don’t wander off. They will also need some beds, which you may craft with the Farmer out of 3x Twigs and 5x Plant Fiber.
If your animals aren’t happy, they will not be able to provide the resources you want them to. Make sure they are all happy and comfy so you’re able to reap their rewards.
The Cat and Dog don’t require a paddock, but they still need a nice, cozy place to sleep. Make sure you craft your Cat and Dog some beds and food bowls to keep them happy. The food they eat can also be crafted with the Farmer out of the following ingredients:
Now that you know where to find the tamable animals in Enshrouded, you’re able to create your very own animal sanctuaries.
