Apple TV+has quite a bit of content now, and most of it is great. That includes the kid-friendly content, which the streaming service is getting more of later this year.
In a new report fromVarietyon Thursday, Apple TV+ has shared new details regarding two brand new series for the service debuting later this year. At the same time, the service has also confirmed premiere dates for the second seasons of two existing properties. First up, the new titles.
First seasons
Stillwater
Stillwateris based on the book seriesZen Shortswritten by Jon J. Muth, which is published by Scholastic. The story focuses on a panda, named Stillwater, who lives next door to three siblings. Over the course of the series, Stillwater the panda will “provide children a deeper understanding of their feelings, as well as mindfulness tools that help them face their own day-to-day challenges”. The panda will also bring “newfound fun and adventure for the three, opening their eyes to the quiet wonders of the world around them, and guiding them to their place within it”.
Stillwaterwill premiere on Apple TV+ on June 30, 2025. It is produced by Scholastic Entertainment and Gaumont. A tease of the series is pictured at the top of this article.
Doug Unplugs
This series is about a robot “who senses there’s more to life than just the facts. While other robots plug in for their daily download, curious Doug unplugs and journeys into the human world, and with his best friend Emma, experiences its wonders firsthand”. This is yet another series based on a book series, in this caseDoug Unplugswritten by Dan Yaccarino.
Doug Unplugspremieres on Apple TV+ on July 24, 2025. It is being produced by DreamWorks Animation.
Second season renewals
At the tail-end of the report,Varietynotes that Apple TV+ has confirmed the premiere date for the second seasons of bothHelpstersandGhostwriter. In the case for the former, the puppets will return to Apple TV+ on June 27, 2025. And for the kids solving mysteries with the help of a ghost, that show returns for its second season on July 17, 2025.
