As part of the stretch goals that were setup for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Kickstarter campaign, Artplay were going to add a roguelike mode, but this has now been dropped for a different feature.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Won’t Get ‘Roguelike’ Mode
Koji Igarashi the developer and designer for ArtPlay’s Kickstarter funded titleBloodstained Ritual of Night, announces that it will not be getting the roguelike mode that was offered as a stretch goal during the campaign. Instead the $5 million milestone stretch goal for the gothic action platformer will be replaced with another mode called Randomizer.
A recent update post that has appeared on theofficial Kickstarter pageshared that due to the game’s code since “early development” the roguelike nature would not be compatible “especially a procedurally generated castle”.

The developer apologies for the cancellation of the mode development, but instead offers a randomizer which will launch with Zangetsu and will be available for free.
Randomizer Mode
The update post outlined some of the info surrounding the new mode. Randomizer adds a brand new twist to Bloodstained by having players choose eight different parameters before their playthrough. These chosen parameters range from Items dropped, Quests, Shops to even Crafting.
While you may mess with these different parameters, the mode ensure you gain the necessary items you need, so not to softlock you progress.

There were also further details announced for continued effort to improve game performance on Switch and Boss Revenge mode which will be releasing after Zangetsu arrives.
Bloodstained Ritual of the Nightis available on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
