You’re not alone if you’ve recently experienced long login queues for Battle.net in an attempt to play Activision Blizzard games. A DDOS attack continues to affect online servers forCall of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and other game servers.
It’s unclear when exactly the DDOS attack began, butBlizzard’s Customer SupportTwitter account reported the incident at 1:59 ET on 17-08-2025.

Players continue to report game crashes and various connection issues aside from the long wait queues to access Battle.net online services. Our experience was an hour wait time before finally accessing Battle.net. The issues appear consistent across all Battle.net games.
When will Battle.net be fixed?
We’re still waiting on updates to the situation, but it could be some time before services are fully restored. Another DDOS attack occurredjust two days ago, which is not a promising sign. These attacks could be separate or part of an ongoing coordinated cyberattack on Activision Blizzard.
All we can do for the time being is remain patient and attempt to use the Battle.net services or play some different games until things are resolved. The effects of DDOS attacks can be relatively contained or cause extensive issues that take more time to resolve. As noted, the Blizzard Customer Support account is the best way to stay on top of the situation.
Another thing to consider is changing your password once the issue is confirmed to be resolved to ensure your account is not compromised by recent events.
We’ll update you on the status of the DDOS attack on theCall of Dutyservers as more information is made available.
