The Mandalorianbecame a hugeStar Warshit on Disney+, with one small green character being one the biggest talking points of the new addition to the franchise.Grogu, or Baby Yodaas he is affectionately known, became a character that opened up a whole new fan base in the galaxy far, far away. One person who was initially not sure about even having Grogu in the series wasDave Filoni, and he had to be coaxed into believing that the arrival of Baby Yoda was going to be anything other than a disaster.
In the new Disney+ feature,Disney Galley – Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season Three, Filoni is one of theStar Warscreators discussing the latest season of the show. As the brainchild of Jon Favreau, Filoni really didn’t think messing with anything around the Yoda name was a good idea, but he soon came around to working with it.

“You know, like in season one, Jon wants to make a Baby Yoda. I’m like, ‘What? Why? Why would we do this? That sounds like not a good idea.’ But, you put that initial fear aside and you say, ‘Okay, well, let’s really examine this.’ And I was like, ‘Jon, if you’re gonna do this, I’m gonna be there with you. ‘Cause I know Yoda’s one of George’s favorite characters and we cannot mess this up.'”

The Mandalorian has Started To Lose The Way.
When it debuted in 2019,The Mandalorianbecame one of the biggestStar Warsprojects ever, landing Disney their first smash hit show on their Disney+ platform. As the first live-action series in theStar Warsfranchise, there was something about the new show that really spoke to the heart ofStar Warsfans, possibly because it was being made by some of the biggestStar Warsfans on the planet in Filoni and Favreau.
However, this year’s third season ofthe show seemed to be faltering, with many seeming to have “aged out” of the often playful fantasy ofThe Mandalorianin favor of the dark drama of other shows such asAndor. However, it was also revealed that the story of Din Djarin has a definite end in sight, with Filoni helming a big screen movie that will culminate the entireMandalorianera of the franchise.
This includes the upcoming series,Ahsoka, which seesRosario Dawson reprising her role as Ahsoka Tanoand seemingly continuing her story from not only theMandalorianuniverse, but also the animatedThe Clone WarsandRebelsshows. The new series recently debuted its trailer ahead of its Disney+ premiere later this year. So far the reception to the footage has been good, but like so many otherStar Warsshows, there final verdict will not be made until the first episode lands. While it looks on the surface thatAhsokawill be another hit on Disney+, the recent mixed reception toThe Mandalorian’s third season had given a little cause for concern.
