Middle-earth: Shadow of Warand 2014’sShadow of Mordorexecutive producerMichael “4G” Forgeylost his battle with a rare form of cancer known as:Glioblastoma(An aggressive type of cancer within the brain) last year, on March 2016 at the young age of 43.
Helping to ease the financial burden on his family, and as a way to honor his enthusiasm for both his work and music, Warner Bros. and Monolith Productions released a new trailer forMiddle-earth: Shadow of Warfeaturing a DLC character in his likeness.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War, His Enduring Legacy
That DLC character is “Forthog Orc-Slayer”, who wields a weaponized guitar and is described as a “Mysterious Saviour” and an “unstoppable warrior who saves Mordor’s mightiest heroes at their moment of greatest need.”
Forthog Orc-Slayer will spontaneously appear during battle, decimating whichever Orc your character is currently facing against in one-hit. Named after the Monolith band in which Forgey was a member of, Forthog Orc-Slayer will be priced at $5 USD.
In a statement by Monolith Productions: “We lost Mike to cancer during the development of Shadow of War, and we want to remember and honor him with a little bit of immortality in Mordor. The legendary Forthog Orcslayer is our way to continue having Mike leap into battle and save us when we’re down.”
For every DLC purchase made, Warner Bros. will donate $3.50 USD to Forgey’s surviving spouse and three children up untilDecember 31, 2019. The character can be pre-purchased right now for both the PC and Xbox One versions of the game, while on PS4 it’ll be available once its version is released.

Previously, to cover for his medical expenses and to support his children’s future, Forgey’s family launched aYouCaring pageto raise money for the cause. Though campaign raised more than $130,000, it was unfortunately short of its $300,000 goal.
