The impact ofDragon Age: The Veilguardis still being felt, months after its October 2024 release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Recently, the director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard left Electronic Arts after nearly twenty years with the company. Now, Corinne Busche has opened up about the reasons for her departure.

In a statement to Eurogamer, Corinne confirmed her exit from EA, explaining that she was offered a new opportunity to work on another RPG.
“My departure was voluntary, as they presented me with an opportunity I couldn’t turn down,” said the creator of one of the best RPGs of recent years.

“I can’t share more details right now, but you can expect it to be an RPG for consoles and PC, in the tradition of the Dragon Age saga with great characters,” she added.
Busche also opened up about her experience directingThe Veilguard,a project that “ultimately also revolved around achieving my own goals.”

“My role at BioWare was to take the reins of the game and steer it in the right direction, and that’s exactly what I did,” she explained.
“It Took Its Toll On Me”
“I love the Dragon Age saga, and I love BioWare. Having the opportunity to work on an RPG of this caliber has been the greatest privilege of my life.”
Still, the director acknowledged the challenges she faced: “As a team, we made it happen; but it was really tough, and it took its toll on me.”

“Creating Veilguard was a struggle in itself. Games with such tumultuous development rarely make it, let alone turn out this good,” she said, referring to the challenges involved in bringing the title to life.
Lastly, Busche added, “BioWare still has a lot of work to do culturally, but I think they are taking steps in the right direction.”
For now, Busche has not provided further details about the game she’s working on, which company she is joining, or its release date and platforms.
