Further, she also explained how Grant has this grumpy personality when people expect him to be something else. She clarified that he wasn’t being negative, and said what he said in a comedic way.

“No, that is Hugh Grant. You think you’re getting this charming movie star and what you really get is grumpy Hugh and then you fall in love with grumpy Hugh. When he says that, I’m telling you, he is being absolutely funny, he doesn’t mean one negative thing about it.”
It’s always good to see such friendships in Hollywood where the actors understand each other so well. Instead of saying any negative comments about her friend, Barrymore defended Hugh Grant in the best way possible.
