Today, EA has revealed the stats that you, the player, have accomplished together as community since the release of F1 23. The Year on the Track in F1 23 examined in-game data that revealed fans' favorite teams, drivers, locations, and items. While the actual Formula One season wrapped up at Abu Dhabi last weekend, this marks a good place for EA to take a look at these stats since the game launched back in June. Players have completed 73 million races, one billion laps, and have raced over 5.25 billion kilometers. Three-time World Champion and EA SPORTS Ambassador, Max Verstappen, was also selected the most to race. This was followed by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and F1 23 Ambassador Charles Leclerc.

Red Bull was the most popular team on the grid followed by Mercedes and Scuderia Ferrari in a close second and third. Players favorite race locations included Bahrain, Melbourne and Austria as traditional circuits were preferred over street circuits. Players triggered 4.5 million red flags, which were added to the game this year, and there were over a half million attempts at Pro Challenges. These are where fans attempted to beat the lap times set by actual F1 drivers in the game. The development team continued to offer content for its F1 World throughout the season, which would challenge players to surpass goals that were set at corresponding weekend races.

“Max Verstappen’s exceptional performance and Red Bull’s dominance on the track has marked this year’s season. It is very interesting to see how this has also been reflected in our game through players’ choices,” said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “It’s extremely gratifying to see the intense level of global engagement in F1 23 and how well-received new features like red flags and Pro Challenges have been. We look forward to another year of high-speed competition and providing even more engaging experiences for our dedicated players around the world.”

The racing in F1 23 will not stop simply because the season is over. Plenty of eSports leagues will continue to race up until the drop of F1 24. 762,000 champions were crowned and 68 million attempts to climb the time trial leaderboard were had. Players also used 582 million Flashbacks, which allows them to rewind the race in the case of errors. Theo Pourchaire was the My Team second driver of choice, while Conductive was the top race suit picked and Fuscia was the top helmet picked. You can check out our review of F1 23here.
