iPhone owners have been begging Apple to implement some sort of Android-stylekeyboardhaptic feedback for as long as I can remember.
Fast forward to the post-Taptic Engine world we live in today, and we still don’t have the option to enable keyboard haptic feedback on stock iPhones.
Although Apple isn’t likely to bring this feature to iOS anytime soon, this is something we’ve been able to achieve on jailbroken iPhones for years. The latest of suchjailbreak tweaksto make this possible isTappyKeyboard, a new and free release by iOS developerKanns.
Once installed, users have the option to choose between enabling either haptic or taptic feedback.
Both options mentioned above will cause a vibration from from the device when tapping on individual keyboard keys, but the developer explains in the tweak depiction, there’s a difference between the two options.
The best way we can explain it is that the taptic setting feels subdued and is designed for newer handsets with the Taptic Engine. It offers more of a “tap” when pecking at keyboard keys with your finger. The haptic setting, on the other hand, is coarser and designed for older devices with a standard vibrator motor. Both options work on newer devices, allowing you to feel the difference between the settings for yourself.

TappyKeyboard certainly isn’t the first jailbreak tweak to enable keyboard-based haptic feedback on pwned devices, but it is the latest. That said, those who are happy with an existing tweak probably won’t have any strong reasons to switch.
