Hecate is known as the Witch of the Crossroads and is a mentor to Melinoë, the protagonist of Hades 2. She is also the first boss that players will encounter, so here is how to beat Hecate in Hades 2.
How to Defeat Hecate in Hades 2
Hecate will be the first real challenge for players in Hades 2. and defeating her will open up story opportunities and other gameplay features. She is also a boss players willencounter multiple timesto get to the next region, so it is important to know how to efficiently beat her.
The boss hastwo phasesthat will flip as the health bar decreases, and each phase has three different attacks. The first phase can be very basic, but overwhelming at first.

Hecate’s first phasecan have her summon a circle around her that explodes, launches a series of flaming arcs in the player’s direction, or making three clones of herself that shoot ranged flames or orbs at the same time. All three attacks can be dodged by dashing around and using your special ranged attack when possible. She can also be damaged during her clone phase, but the clones will turn green with no damage while the real one will have damage numbers bouncing off of her.
Hecate’s second phaseconsists of summoning spirits while invincible, summoning an exploding magic circle at your position, or shooting an orb that turns you into a sheep. The spirits can be easily defeated to break her invulnerability, and players can constantly dash to avoid the magic circle.

The sheep orb, however, can be very hard to dodge. Players can still dash and perform basic attacks as a sheep, but have virtually no range. It is best toconstantly dash and avoid all combat as a sheepuntil the spell wears off.
The fight itself can be very long depending on how many boons you are carrying. ensure togather as many boons and health upgradesbefore tackling the fight to make it easier. Players will receive one Cinder for beating Hecate, and will continue to receive the reward on subsequent defeats.
