The Hidden Temple Key grants you access to one ofSekiro: Shadows Die Twice‘s harder fights. It’s also one of the simpler items in the game to find. But you’d be forgiven for missing out on it during the first pass of the area. Either way, here’s a quick guide on how to find the Hidden Temple Key inSekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice– How to get the Hidden Temple Key

The Hidden Temple Key is located in the Hirata Estate area. But if you’ve followed a certain path through the location, you’ve probably missed the key. It’s left a lot of players confused over the years as they approach the area’s final door only to find it locked. But it’s actually pretty easy to find the key you need.

So, we’llstart at the Bamboo Thicket Slope Idol. This is the checkpoint you unlock after defeating the Shinobi Hunter Enshin of Misen. From here you just want tokeep heading straight until you come to a small staircase that turns to the left. There will be a lot of enemies here that you may either dispatch or quickly run around. Don’t be afraid to just run past them, though. The Hidden Temple Key isn’t that far from the Bamboo Thicket Slope.

You should then find yourself on a big bridge with four enemies ahead of you. Again you can either deal with them or run past them. The latter choice isn’t so risky here since they won’t follow you up the slope ahead. At the top of the slope you’ll find yourself in a burning courtyard with Owl slumped over in the corner.

From here you just need totalk to Owl and exhaust his dialogue. He should then give you the Hidden Temple Keywhich you can use at the end of the Hirata Estate area. The Hidden Temple Key gives you access toSekiro: Shadow Die Twice‘s Lady Butterfly encounter. But be warned, this boss is not an easy encounter. So verify you’re heading in there prepared to die a couple of times.
