Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio shared the screen for the first time in James Cameron’s 1997 film,Titanic. The movie was a blockbuster hit and established its leading stars among some of the best on-screen couples in Hollywood. Both Winslet and DiCaprio have been good friends and reunited for the 2008 romantic dramaRevolutionary Road.
While they have been highly praised for their work, several reports have also highlighted DiCaprio’s diva attitude on the set of the 1997 film. When his co-star was asked the same, she stated that it wasn’t pleasant for her as well, but she kept her feelings and thoughts to herself, unlike her co-star, who would constantly complain about feeling miserable.

However, the pair was almost scrapped after the Oscar-winning actor’s on-set behavior, who was reportedly sick of the“brown land”and called it “bullsh*t,” as perVanity Fair.
There are also reports suggesting that theInceptionstar wanted to make certain changes in the script. When his co-star got around to discussing how DiCaprio felt miserable while filming the movie, she shared that he was not the only one.
“I turned 21 on that shoot, and Leo turned 22,”she said before further stating,“I remember! I remember that he was (miserable)!”TheAvatarstar shared that it was almost the same for everyone, as they were“all in it together,” and it was not pleasant for any of them.
However, she chose not to complain about it and kept it to herself.“I guess I was raised to be grateful and just get on with it. I didn’t feel it was my right to be miserable,” she toldThe Guardianwhile mentioning that she wouldn’t have“let that slip”if she felt that way.

Leonardo DiCaprio Almost Lost The Lead Role inTitanic
Kate Winslet has been quite open about how she wanted to portray Rose’s characters in the movie, and she did everything in her power to get the offer. However, it was not the same for Leonardo DiCaprio, as he refused to do the screen test.
James Cameron shared during an interview withGQthat the actor refused to do the screen test with Winslet until he learned that he would not get the part if he did not do the screen test.“If I don’t read, I don’t get the part. Just like that?”Cameron recalled DiCaprio’s words.
And once the camera started rolling, the filmmaker knew he had found the perfect actor to play Jack Dawson for his movie. “I’m like, All right. He’s the guy,’”he said. The role brought its cast to international attention who have risen to become some of the biggest stars in the industry.
