If there’s one thing that Ubisoft does well with their multitude of franchises, it’s creating dense environments filled with exploration. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is no different, as the vast world the studio has created is ripe for adventure. Whether it’s the various unique enemies you’ll come across on your adventures or investigating reported Yokai in the area, there feels like an overwhelming amount of content to dig your teeth into.
One such activity is participating in the numerous temples and shrines. Japan is a country of tradition and religion, at least back in the 1500s when Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place. If you’ve ever been to the country, you’ll know that the number of temples and shrines feels infinite, and in Shadows, it’s well represented with some of the most iconic structures in the Kansai region.

Purpose of Temples & Shrines
With each of the temples and shrines, there will either be lost pages that need collecting or shrines that need to be prayed to. Doing so will unlock a good amount of EXP along with a Knowledge point that can be used to upgrade Nao andYasuke. Some of these locations have surprisingly well-hidden collectibles, but with this guide you’ll have no problem finding them.
The Kinkauji Temple is found in the Yamashiro region of Japan. It is located within the northern part of Kyoto city.
Lost Page Locations
Lost Page #1
One of the most iconic temples in the Kansai region of Japan, it’s no surprise that there are more collectibles to find in Kinkakuji Temple. There are many entrances to the famous Golden Pavilion, but coming in from the east will net you the first Lost Page pretty quickly. When you first arrive, crossing over the small bridge, you’ll pass by a couple of large structures. Ignore them and look towards the closed gate. There will be a large lantern nearby with the first Lost Page below it.

After collecting the first Lost Page, go towards the closed door. Simply climb over the wall and to the right you’ll see a rather large building. Unfortunately, you’ll be unable to climb on it through traditional means, so head to the back to find a large tree leaning towards it. Climb up it using the yellow navigation indicators and get to the roof where the second Lost Page will be waiting.

From the large building you’re on, go back down towards the large tree you climbed. Head further into the bushes north until you reach a small hut with some residents. While the doorway will be closed to visitors, you’ll be able to crawl under into the house where a man resides. In the corner you’ll find the third Lost Page.
Lost Page #4
Head back to where you found the second Lost Page on the building via the large tree. Instead of heading north, move to the west until you find yourself looking at the large pond and the iconic Golden Pavilion. Looking at the pond, there will be a small island in the middle. Swim there to find the fourth and final Lost Page.
