For now, no details of the plot or cast of this third film have been revealed, beyond the return of Craig as Blanc and Johnson as director and screenwriter. But, just as happened with the first two installments, there will surely be a long list of interesting names accompanying the former James Bond in this new adventure.

Can Knives Out Continue To Be The King of the Whodunit Genre?

The detective genre has always been popular, not only in the movies, but also in literature, television and even video games. From Sherlock Holmes to Hercule Poirot, the genre has seen several detectives appear in dozens of different stories as they move from solving one case to the next.

However, new Holmes ventures are currently few and far between, and Kenneth Branagh’s struggles at the box office with his third outing as Agatha Christie’s Belgian detective suggest that there is room for a new charismatic detective to rise. The arrival of Craig’s Benoit Blanc could not have come at a better time. With Johnson’s ability to spin a yarn that warrants a second and even third viewing, and Craig’s personification of a befuddled sleuth who is really anything other than confused, the dynamic world ofKnives Outcould run for some time yet.
