Lies of P Overture Takes Us to the Past
Amidst a wave of soulslike games flooding the genre, Lies of P proved that there is always room for this type of experience—even when it’s not developed by FromSoftware. South Korean studios ROUND8 Studio and NEOWIZ delivered a truly remarkable game a couple of years ago.
Now, we finally have details about Lies of P Overture, the highly anticipated DLC that will serve as a prequel to the events of the base game.
What Has Been Revealed So Far?
Set to release in the summer of 2025, Lies of P Overture will arrive on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC—offering the perfect excuse to return to the game’s industrial and Victorian-inspired world, which was previously compared toBloodborne.
Jiwon Choi, the developer behind Lies of P, discussed the DLC in a PlayStation Blog post, confirming that Overture will depict the Puppet Frenzy—the massacre that completely devastated the city of Krat.
“InLies of P: Overture, we are refining, reworking, and completing the story as we originally conceived it,” said the Korean developer. “Our production team had many stories and features they wanted to explore.”
“So we continued exploring those ideas to the very end. Figuring out how to integrate those elements into Lies of P: Overture was a great challenge for me as a director,” Choi explained in this DLC preview.
There are still details yet to be unveiled, but one thing is clear:Lies of P Overturewill bring more high-intensity boss battles, new weapons and combat mechanics, and the promise of further expanding its captivating universe.
