After being available on Hulu for a while, the film has now reached a new platform and has grown incredibly popular on Max. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film serves as an origin story for Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), the character at the heart of the first fourUnchartedVideo games. While not a direct adaptation of any specific installment of the franchise, the film instead chooses to create a more generic adventure story.
For fans of the video gamesthat the movie is based on,Unchartedcan be frustrating due to its unwarranted use of some of the most iconic set pieces from the video games without any of the emotional setup or character work that the series is also well known for. Which completely makes sense; obviously, in that final scene, I have the mustache.”
