BioWare shared some insights withGame InformerregardingMass Effect Andromeda’smultiplayerand how it will connect to the game’s single player story as part of the magazine’s continuing coverage for the month.
Multiplayer in the new game is being designed to keep players constantly on the move and there will be powers and mobility options to support this new faster style.Enemieswill now be designed to flush timid players out of cover spots.

Powersthemselves will now have individual cooldown timers rather than a global cooldown for all powers. This is to allow players more freedom in how they operate, and gives them the flexibility to expend them all or use them in combinations.
The jetpack will allow for increased mobility on the game map, allowing players to reach the vertical points of maps without needing ladders. The pack won’t have unlimited use or range, making it something players have to plan. BioWare is designing it to be fluid and add an element of movement freedom while opening up new possibilities.

In-game currency will be used to purchase blind packs which will unlock newweapons, kits anditemsat random. You can bypass this with real money if you like. To alleviate some of the grind, there will also be a store that sells an assortment of loot on a rotating basis. You can use either real money or an in-game currency called mission funds at this loot store.
Playing through multiplayer will now give players prestige XP that is shared across character roles. When you hit a prestige level you will earn a bonus for all of your characters regardless of role such as a health boost. The more you play and across various roles, the more you will unlock via this new progression system.

Multiplayer will have an impact on single player but no specifics have been revealed. Mission funds will have in game implications. BioWare is also designing it so that you’re able to either send a team to complete amissionin single player or tackle it in multiplayer yourself. Overall though, multiplayer will not be an obligation for players.
Interesting stuff! Thoughts on the changes? Sound off in the comments! Mass Effect Andromeda releases sometime 2017 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
