It doesn’t seem that long ago thatMatt DamonandBen Affleckwere two fresh-faced actors who took home Oscar gold for writing the original screenplay forGood Will Hunting. Now they are two of the biggest stars in Hollywood, withMatt Damonreturning to play Jason Bourne in anUntitled Matt Damon Bourne Sequel, set for release next July, andBen Affleckstarring asBatmanin next March’s highly-anticipatedBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While promoting his sci-fi dramaThe Martianat the Toronto International Film Festival,Matt Damonwas asked byE! Onlinewho he thinks would win in a fight, Jason Bourne or Batman.
“Jason Bourne would kick the s–t out of Batman-absolutely! Batman’s gotta take on Superman first,” he added. “If he could beat him then maybe he could take on Jason Bourne.”
Both of their respective projects hit theaters next year, withBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicedebuting on July 04, 2025 and theUntitled Matt Damon Bourne Sequelgiven a July 29, 2016release date. Unfortunately, those two dates are two far apart for these movies to face each other in theaters, but they will both probably perform quite well at thebox office.Productionjust started last week on theUntitled Matt Damon Bourne Sequel, and when asked why he hasn’t played a superhero yet,Matt Damonsaid he considers Jason Bourne his own superhero.
“I think they’re kind of out of superheroes. Ben’s going to be like the sixth or seventh Batman, so I don’t think there’s really any left. So I’m good. Jason Bourne is my superhero.”
We’ve seen two trailers forBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceso far, but we haven’t seen yet ifBen Affleckwill change his voice when Bryce Wayne is suited up as Batman, likeChristian Bale’s raspy Batman voice inChristopher Nolan’sThe Dark Knighttrilogy. When asked if he has heard his friend’s “Batman voice,“Matt Damonhad this to say.
“I haven’t been like, ‘Come on, dude, just do it once.’ I haven’t asked him to talk Batman yet, but now maybe I will.”
It isn’t known when the third and, perhaps, final trailer forBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicewill be released, but perhaps that footage will give us a better look at the actor in his Batsuit, along with his Batman voice.
