Monster Hunter Wilds Announced; Coming 2025

Monster Hunter Wilds was revealed at TGA 2023 as the next mainline game of the series. Heading to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025. The Action-RPG got a debut trailer which showed monster riding and monster gliding in a quick reveal trailer. Not many details were given but we do know unlikeMonster Hunter Risewhich launched on the Nintendo Switch, Wilds will be coming to consoles and PC.

The trailer which is more of a teaser than anything, shows a player using a smaller monster to ride through the Wilds' landscape, similar to thePalamuteriding that was seen in MHRise. However, one stark difference is being able to glide upon the back of the same monster. It’s unclear if we’ll see some of the same mechanics that were seen in Rise, such as theWirebug, or a whole new system with this next generation of monster hunting.

Monster Hunter Wilds Announced; Coming in 2025

The release date is some time away, but according to Capcom producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, more news will be coming Summer 2024.

The world does look rather open from the trailer, so whether we’ll get an open-world experience or a morebiomeopen area experience such asMonster Hunter Worldisn’t currently known. However, as the game is heading to next-gen consoles and PC, the graphics look to be a bit more demanding and can be more flexible when it comes to world design. What do you think of the trailer?
