Once you’ve reached the small Virga Islands inMetaphor: ReFantazio, you will be roughly halfway through the game, if not a little further, but that just means there are many more quests to be found, some of which actually offer a significant challenge. One so happens to be just outside the Inn in the Village of Pagans, where a man will send you on a rather lengthy journey to help defeat a powerful monster.

Dejected Man and Unlocking the Dungeon
Located just outside the inn of the village, the Dejected Man is in a rather depressed state as he mourns his presumed late sister. She has always had an interest in monsters, but it seems her curiosity got the better of her and may have fallen in her research at the Spire of Blind Faith.
This is a rather sizable dungeon, but to find out more information about it, you will need to talk to theTalkative Mustariman inside the local pub. By buying Phantom Avian of the Spire information, it will unlock the location of the Spire, a place at the edge of the ocean far away from where you are.
Spire of Blind Faith
This is a lengthy three-day trek from the Virga Islands, but along the way you may as well stop at the Orbwise Path, provided you pick up theSaving the Mourning Snakesquest. This is given byJunahherself starting August 19.
Regardless, when you finally reach the Spire, you will be met by a rather alive sister, “Confident Woman”. The quest has now somewhat changed as, while you will still be slaying a dangerous monster, it’s not to avenge the Dejected Man’s sister, but instead to get back theMonster Notebookthat the Confident Woman dropped.
Proceed up the Spire and you will notice that the monsters here are deadlier than your normal enemies. This is because, despite picking this up in August when you should be in your high 30s, most of the monsters here are in the high 40s and low 50s in terms of level. Some of the skeletons can still be killed without initiating combat, but some of the bigger foes can be difficult to manage.
Speaking of which, once you reach the top of the spire you will be met with aLeogron, a griffin-like creature. This is the being that you were meant to come and slay to avenge the Dejected Man’s sister, and it just so happens it drops her Notebook in the process. Face it down and return to the Confident Woman to return herMonster Notebook.
After all of this, return to the Dejected Man to inform him of his sister’s safety, something he already knows because somehow she beat you back to the islands.
