Video editing with Pixelmator Pro 3.2
The biggest new feature in Pixelmator Pro 3.2, codenamed Lumière, is basic video editing support. Now you can import, edit and export video files using Pixelmator’s existing photo-editing tools, filters and effects.
Simply add a video file to your project just like you would any other image-based layers. That’s all there’s to it, now you can manage and edit video layers using the same Pixelmator Pro tools, effects and filters for image editing.
As if that weren’t enough, you can also perform other tasks such as crop footage and add effects to a video. You can also apply masks or clipping masks to video layers and use all the machine learning-powered color adjustments on video.
Not your Adobe Premiere replacement… yet
Just don’t dream about Pixelmator Pro replacing non-linear video editors such as Adobe’s Premiere or Apple’s Final Cut Pro because that’s not going to happen anytime soon. That being said, however, the ease with which you can bring your designs to life and create some eye-catching motion graphics is remarkable.
Aside from video editing support, the update brings other improvements.
Other new features in Pixelmator Pro 3.2
Importing videos in Pixelmator Pro and managing them in the app is easy with new on-canvas controls for playing, muting, scrubbing and setting a video’s poster frame. You can even adjust the start/end video behavior in multi-video compositions.
Another new feature is video templates.

The team has painstakingly created twelve video templates that will get you up and running in no time.
