Resident Evil Movies How to Watch in Order

“Because I love the games. I played all of the games. I played Resident Evil 4 a hundred times through. I’m obsessed with it. And so, I just want to tell a story that feels like it’s honoring the experience you get when you play the games.

Milla Jovovich stars in the spectacular installments, kicking major zombie butt. Here’s how to watch the Resident Evil movies in order.

Cregger’s direction will probably tilt more toward horror—likely emphasizing suspense over action, an approach that the film series seemed to discard as it progressed. The director has clearly shown his knack for the genre while building the list of credits that made him the studio’s pick to revive the franchise.

As Cregger confirmed during CinemaCon, the movie “will be builtin the spirit of those gamesand follows one central protagonist from point A to point B, as they descend deeper into hell.” Without question, fans should rest assured that his adaptation will honor the original game series:

“There’s a moment that comes in every moment of every Resident Evil game where you find yourself standing in the mouth of a dark passageway. One shot in the gun is left. You know that something horrible is waiting for you in that darkness, that awful moment where you have to will yourself. That’s something that every Resident Evil game has perfected and has kept me and millions of other players returning to the series for decades.”

TheResident Evilvideo game franchise has had a strong following ever since the first game was released. The cult franchise has expanded towards other mediums, and the film series grossed more than $1 billion at the box office in total. This is likely the reason producers deemed it necessary to relaunch it under the leadership of a new creative team. Though the last reboot attempt, 2021’sResident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, underperformed criticallyand commercially, the IP owners are trying again. The question is: Do we really need anotherResident Evilmovie? One way or another, Cregger will let us know next year.
