Star Wars Outlawsdoesn’t have the most exciting batch of side quests, but one notable major side quest stands out: “Jet Kordo’s Legacy.” After interacting with a holotracker aboard the Trailblazer, Kay will learn about hidden vaults stashed across the galaxy by the ship previous owner, Jet Kordo. In order to get into these vaults, Kay will have to find a series of holodiscs and explore each area to find markers that lead them to each vault.

Each part of the quest follows a similar formula: Find a holodisc, use it to try and locate a marker at a certain location on the current map, activate the marker to isolate a frequency, then follow a series of beeps from the holotracker in a “hot and cold” fashion to guide you to the vault, guided along the way by other signals such as a series of poles. Along the way, you’ll gather rewards such as the full Scoundrel Gear set (which unlocks the secret “It’s mine now” achievement/trophy for finding it all) and an intriguing eight-part journal series that crosses off nearly a quarter of all the “Jet’s Journal” collectibles. So what say we pop in the first holodisc and get going?

StarWarsOutlaws-TheHighRoller

Toshara’s Vault

The first marker in Toshara showcases a sort of cylindrical station located by a giant rock structure. That would be theTyphon’s Rocklandmark, located inThe Lost Steppe. So head to the location on the map, look for the rock with the emblem on it, and isolate the frequency. Now to track it, which involves you findinga nearby station to rappel down from, and then following the holotracker’s cues. The cues will lead you over the cliffs and through some caves, before you can find a spot to insert the holodisc, as seen in the picture. A ladder will then pop down nearby.

Climb it, head into the vault, and grab everything you can, opening the chest at the end to grab theScoundrel Belt, along with the info that Jet’s other vaults are located on other planets. Conveniently, the same planets Kay is visiting all throughout her adventure!

StarWarsOutlaws-TheGunslinger

At this point, you can tackle the next five vaults on the other three planets in whichever order you choose. For this guide, though, we’ll go in order of the game’s suggested difficulty.

Kijimi’s Vault

Now you have to put in a bit more legwork and gather intel to learn where the initial holodiscs are. When inKijimi City, head to the intersection inKijimiko Square, marked on the map. You’ll find a couple of people talking about a group of smugglers. From there, head south towards the more narrow path leading to theThieves' Quarter, where you can find the next person in the intel chain that lets you know that the holodisc you need is now part ofa Sabacc pot.So head back the way you came, and you should find the entrance to the area with the Sabacc game on your left. Win the game, score the holodisc.

While talking with the initial two people in the intel chain, make sure not to miss the"Hiding Contraband"Jet’s Journal collectible that’s right by them.

The loadout screen for Kay’s equipment, highlight the Cocktail Umbrella charm and its effects.

Now to actually find the marker. The hologram shows a large dual antenna-like structure, which is right inKijimiko Square, only a short distance away from the Kessel Sabacc game you were just in. Another rock with the emblem is right nearby, so interact with it, and now that you have the frequency, time to do some tracking. Notice that secluded area on the map right next to theKijimi City Gate?Well, that’s where we’re going. Head there, do a little climbing, and then you’ll find where to insert the holodisc and open the next vault. Among the goodies inside are some syndicate data, and the chest that contains another part of Jet Kordo’s Legacy, plus a rather handyDirect Transaction Shift Tokenfor Kessel Sabacc, which allows you to trade hands with another player.

Akiva’s First Vault

Akiva, like Tatooine, is notable for havingtwo of Jet Kordo’s vaults.Alas, you cannot do them in whatever order you choose, so let’s just start by obtaining the holodisc for the first one. In this case, it’s not exactly a difficult task, as a vendor in theMarket District in Myrra, right outside thePyke District, will sell it to you for one hundred credits. So that was easy. Now we just need to find the vault. Open up the tracker, and it will show you a location with a massive, somewhat screw-shaped structure. As it turns out, this is theDelma Water Tower,in theKaraba Foothills, north ofSalea’s Hand.

Approach the water tower from the south, crossinga huge login order to get to the area below it (the log can actually be seen on the map). Once there, take a right and navigate some ruins to find the rock with next marker. Activate the frequency, and then backtrack across the log again, follow the beeping noise and the poles, and you should find the area to insert the holodisc, opening the next vault. More syndicate data lies within, as well as the chest here, which contains aBlaster Recirculator, along witha datapadnearby containing the info that lets Kay know of a second vault. So on to Part 2 of this quest:

Akiva’s Second Vault

At this point, though, you will need to complete enough of the main story quest on Akiva with Gedeek to unlock the speeder bike upgrade that allows you to travel across water, as there is no way to reach the necessary goals for this next vault without it.

The first intel that you need is atSatrap’s Promnade in Myrra, right next to the fast travel point. As in, almost literally, the moment you use fast travel, you should immediately hear two hired guns talking, with a spot to listen in right next to them. It turns outa Hutt smugglerout inHunter’s Canopyhas it. The whole area is Hutt territory, so if you have a good reputation with them, it should be easy. If not, it’s going to require a bit more finesse or gunplay, with some tall grass right by the smuggler if you choose the stealthier option.Use Nixto steal the holodisc from him.

Pop the holodisc in, and it showsa small islandright by a bigger island. Luckily, you should be right by the water, so hop on your upgraded speeder bike and head north into theGreat Basin, where you’ll find said small island, as marked on the map. Isolate the frequency, and it should take you north across the water toa shallow area under a cliff.Head right from there, and you’ll find a ramp for the speeder bike. Head up it, at the end is a convenient door with a slot for the holodisc, letting you enter the vault and just grab the treasure inside…well, after you take some coverto avoid a turret, and then push a button to turn it off. Grab the loot, including theScoundrel Pants, and we’re done with vaults on Akiva.

Tatooine’s First Vault

You will need to complete the main quest here on Tatooine as well before you’re able to get to the vault, as the character needed to gain the necessary intel from will not appear until then.

Now onTatooine, which, much like Akiva, has two vaults to find. To start, head intoWayfairand find a pair of people talking next to a giant tank about some smugglers. Talk to them, and either cough up some credits or use your Hutt contacts (if your reputation with them is good enough) to get the intel needed. They’ll let you know ofa treasure hunterwho should have the holodisc.

They’re located in the northern part of theWestern Dune Sea,just pastPillar Forest, right by the cliffs, as marked on the map. Unfortunately, this is Empire territory near the cave entrance, so you’ll have to watch out for them. Enter the cave, and…well, judging by the massiffs and skeletons, our treasure hunter might not have made it. Use your blaster totake out the massiffs, grab the holodisc, and pop it into the holotracker.

The hologram shows that the marker is out in theWestern Dune Seaitself, close to a rock formation. Pull up the map, and notice thatsmall group of rocksin the middle of the desert, just a bit away from where you are? Yep, head there, and you’ll find the next marker. Isolate the frequency, and the holortracker’s cues will take yousouthwest to a buried structure(being a wide open desert, it’s quite easy to track). Insert the holodisc, activate the newly-uncovered power cell with the blaster’sIon Module, then head in through the vent. Crack open the chest inside to get theScoundrel Jacket,anX-FP-C28 Ship Computer, and intel that leads to the second vault.

Tatooine’s Second Vault

The second vault, though, requires the Slicing Kit due to an advanced lock, so consultour video on the Slicer Expert’s questif you haven’t unlocked it already.

For the second vault, we begin withBestine, where an alleyway marked on the map should lead you to a pilot talking about pirates. Talk to them to gain the intel needed, which unfortunately, leads you to theGarrick Ranch in the South Jundland Wastes. It’s a hostile area filled with pirates, so unless you’re a stealth expert,be prepared for a fight(in this writer’s case, it was also complicated by a sudden Pirate Raid that brought stormtroopers). Loot the place of any treasure, then look for a red door to the north up some stairs. Use the slicing kit on a port to the left of the stairs, enter the building, and grab the damaged holodisc.

Don’t forget the “Love on Deck 5 Part 3” Holodrama collectible, on a table to the left of the stairs as well.

The holodisc will show you an area by a triangular intersection and a stone arch, also found in theSouth Jundland Wastes, with the marker just a short distance away from one of the traders,Tretet Zadiket.Activate the frequency, which leads you to a path right behind the marker, which is easy to follow. After some climbing, you’ll wind up at a door where you insert a holodisc. Head in, open up the chest, and grab theSandcrawler Paint Jobas a reward.

Toshara’s Secret Vault

After you’ve completed all the other vaults,ND-5 will anazlyze the data, and it turns out Jet Kordo hasone more super-secret vaultwhich, as it turns out, is a secret roomback in the very first vault back on Toshara. To get in, you’ll need a holodisc that ND-5 has prepared, which you’re able to grab in the Trailblazer’s workshop. Thankfully, the location of the first vault should be marked on the map now, and the ladder is still there, so there are no issues with finding it or getting back in. Once inside, find the area to insert the holodisc in, head in, and open the chest, completing the quest and all the"Jet Kordo’s Legacy" journal entries, along with the ultimate reward:the Cocktail Umbrella.

Does that sound silly to you? Well, laugh it up, fuzzball, but be aware thatthe Cocktail Umbrella is a Major Charmwith a pretty powerful effect: When equipped, it essentially acts as a wild card for every gear set in the game, allowing you to gain that set’s bonus passive abilities with only two out of the set’s three items equipped. Not only does this fill in any gaps if you’re missing a piece of gear, but it allows you to mix and match abilities to a degree.

For example, let’s say you want the Kijimi Explorer Gear’s damage reduction bonus, but would also like the regular Stun Shot recharge speed bonus that your newly-acquired Scoundrel Belt provides. With the Cocktail Umbrella, you can now equip that belt along with the other Kijimi Explorer items without interrupting things.

And that’s Jet Kordo’s Legacy! Now that you have all of its rewards, as well as a pretty good tale courtesy of Jet. Maybe we’ll get to see him in person sometime down the road, but for now, enjoy the spoils!
