The Stormweaver Spark build is one of the flashiest Sorcerer builds inPath of Exile 2. The build fills your screen with lightning sparks, annihilating any enemy caught within the spark’s projectile path. The Stormweaver Spark is a great leveling build that can easily transition to the endgame with a few tweaks and changes to the build. We’ll cover the leveling and the endgame version of the Stormweaver Spark build in this complete Path of Exile 2 Sorcerer build guide.

Stormweaver Spark Leveling Build in Path of Exile 2

Stormweaver Spark Overview

This build uses the main skill, Spark, to fill the screen with lightning projectiles that go in different directions when cast. It fires several projectiles when cast, and you’ll scale (more projectiles on the screen) this even more with more cast speed and spell duration. The build uses the Sorcerer class for the Stormweaver ascendancy, which utilizes the permanent Arcane Surge buff from Constant Gale and uses Force of Will to increase the effect by stacking mana.

Arcane Surge gives the player more mana regeneration and cast speed, which will be permanently active for the Stormweaver class. Using these mechanics will clear out most of the enemies on your screen, and you’ll use a few curses like Conductivity to deal with rare monsters and bosses.

When you reach the endgame, the build will use the Archmage buff to scale the damage output further.

Spark Leveling Build Gems

When starting a new character, Spark is immediately available, so you’ll use Spark from start to finish. Once you get support gems, focus on Arcane Tempo and Unleash gems first. For the third support gem, you’ll want Persistence for bosses and Pierce for area clearing.

Once you unlock the other skill gems, you should equip them immediately. Your main goal is to use Spark for all the easy enemies and use Orb of Storms and Conductivity on rare monsters and bosses for added damage. Mana Tempest will be your main source of burst damage, which should be used once the boss is under the Conductivity curse. This will drain your mana, so use a mana flask to prolong it a little more during your short burst windows. You’ll use this strategy up to the endgame.

Stormweaver Spark Passive Skills

As for the passive skill tree, there are a few clusters we want to path to, but some of them are dependent on what you currently need when leveling. Here are the clusters or the notable passive skills you need to remember:

You first want to path to Raw Power, Path of Storms, Exploit the Elements, and Breath of Lightning. This gives you that “mandatory” power boost at the start of the campaign because the game is really difficult. Once you get more passive skill points, you want torespec outof Path of Storms, Exploit the Elements, and Breath of Lightningonly when you can reach Stormcharged, Touch the Arcane, and Adverse Growth. This timing will usually beafter you ascend your class to the Stormweaver, which is perfect since you’ll have Constant Gale active along with Touch the Arcane.

Once you have this tree, you will likely need more defense to avoid one-shots. Pathing to Mental Perseverance and Wide Barrier/Offensive Stance will be your main defensive nodes in the campaign. You must equip a shield with a good Block Chance rating to capitalize on these defensive nodes.

If you don’t have a problem with defense, you can path to Lightning Quick, Pure Power, or Electric Amplification. Do not get Eldritch Battery yet. It is only worth getting when you either get the second Ascendancy or reach the endgame and finally use the Archmage buff.

As for gearing in the campaign, try to get Maximum Life rolls on each gear piece while getting a few resistances up. You can do this usingsimple crafting strategies, such as Orb of Transmutations and Orb of Augmentations. Cast speed is good enough on rings since getting good stats early in the game for jewelry will be hard. Your preferred weapon would be a wand with +4 to all spell skills or lightning spell skills, cast speed, and %spell damage. These are hard to acquire, so you can settle for weaker stats until you get better ones.

Stormweaver Archmage Spark Endgame Build in Path of Exile 2

Here are the skill gems for when you start mapping:

The playstyle will revolve around the same skill rotations. However, you’ll struggle more with mana conservation since you won’t be using Mana Remnants. You can swap out Mobility for Inspiration on Spark if your mana problems are too severe.

The switch to the Archmage takes your damage output to a different level as the damage scales up even more when you have more mana. For each 100 Maximum Mana you have, you’ll gain 5% extra damage for your Spark.

With Eldritch Battery turning all your Energy Shield into Mana and several Maximum Mana nodes on your passive tree and gear, your Stormweaver Spark Archmage Manastacker build will finally be active.

You’ll experience a massive increase in damage, but you’ll need to solve your mana problems first. Mana regeneration passive skill nodes will help with this issue when you level up to 70 or more. Nodes like Insightfulness and Ether Flow are two great options for more mana.

Ultimately, you’ll want to scale your damage by adding as much Maximum Mana to your character as possible.

Stormweaver Endgame Spark Gearing

Spark Build Unique Items

One of the biggest boosts to the endgame Spark build’s survivability is theEverlasting Gaze Azure Amulet. With the amulet, you gain 20-30% of Maximum Mana as Extra Maximum Energy Shield. Since you are using Eldritch Battery to convert your ES to Maximum Mana, you literally have 0 ES.

However, the Everlasting Gaze Azure Amulet is confusing because it calculates your bonus ES after adding all your bonuses from the tree and gear. With that in mind, it is weird that Eldritch Battery works with it, and it would be interesting to see if this was intended.

Another great and underrated unique is theSnakepit Pearl Ring. While you lose some important stats on a ring slot like Maximum Mana, you are basically adding another support gem to your Spark because of the effect. Putting the Snakepit on the left ring slot will make your Spark fork. If you put it on the right ring slot, it adds Chain instead.

The only downside is that you cannot use Pierce as a support gem, which is a huge DPS loss. However, the trade-off is having Fork or Chain + another support gem to replace Pierce, which is a good deal.

Fork adds more projectiles since when a Spark hits an enemy, it “forks” into more Spark projectiles (one turns into two). This is great for close areas like boss rooms or maps like Crypt and Augury.

As for Chain, it helps your Spark clear more in maps as “Chain” means that as soon as a Spark hits a target, it goes immediately to another target. Chain will greatly help you eliminate enemies quicker for open areas, but you lose some damage when fighting bosses. You can alternate or swap your Snakepit Pearl Ring’s ring slot at any moment to change to Fork or Chain.

Spark Build Best Stats

Maximum Mana will always be your priority in most gear slots. However, you want more than that. First, you must fix your resistances, preferably on your gloves, boots, belt, body armor, and helmet.

It doesn’t matter where you get your resistances, but looking for them in certain gear slots will make it extremely expensive. For example, if you want two resistance rolls on your body armor, it’ll be expensive since you want decent Energy Shield and +Spirit rolls on your body armor, too. Adding resistances might push that price to several Divine Orbs.

Here are your main goals when gearing your Spark build:

Pure ES gear will help you go on full Intelligence on your passive skill tree, giving you enough Intelligence to use a level 20 Spark and get more damage indirectly since you also get more mana from more Intelligence.

Wands will be your priority for more damage. Aim for a +4 while having Maximum Mana and Cast Speed rolls. High Spell Damage and Critical Strike Damage Bonus are also great.

Deciding to use a Shield or Focus will alter your passive skill tree. Using a Focus will greatly increase your damage and add enough ES to compensate for the defense loss from Blocks. However, they are ridiculously more expensive since you want a +2 level to all skill gems while having 300+ ES and other useful suffixes like resistances.

Using a Shield will be cheaper and help you fix your resistances better. You also get good survivability and damage from the passive skill tree nodes.

For Jewels, you want more ES if you need more survivability. You can add Skill Effect Duration, Cast Speed, Lightning Pen, and more if you need more damage.
