The Last Faith A Soulslike Metroidvania Coming to PC and Consoles 2022
Get ready for an unholy alliance of metroidvania andsoulslikein The Last Faith, launching on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in2022. The news was announced alongside a new trailer at the Future Game Show this weekend. Developer Kumi Souls Games originally launched a Kickstarter campaign for the dark pixel side-scroller back in 2020, which quickly surpassed its original goal by a massive 466%. Now in the final stretch, a new trailer has been released for the game previewing its combat in action.
What is The Last Faith?
Combining a stunning pixel art style with gothic-themed landscapes, the game takes players to what lurks in the shadows. The brutal but empowering gameplay sets players on a challenging experience marryingmetroidvaniawith soulslike elements. Together with its nonlinear exploration into deep dark forests, to moonlit bathed cities, players will be intrigued by this fantasy title dubbed ‘soulsvania’.
Main protagonist Eric awakens having no recollection of his immediate past. It’s a race against the clock to uncover his surroundings as his conscience threatens to deteriorate right in front of him. Faced with a cursed mission, he will cross paths with ancient religions and divinities.

The gameplay focuses on merciless combat, with a number of custom executions to perform. Use a number of arcane spells, weapons and take up long-range firearms to fight your way through this dark fantasy world. Combat is described as reactive, with weapons gaining different stats and special movesets. Dodges come in three different types, back dodge, tactical dodge and evasive. Tactical dodges allows players to slide behind the enemy to gain the upper hand while evasive dodges can help players to roll out of the way of certain enemies.
Publisher Playstack shares that working with developer Kumi Souls is a right fit, as the studio is adamant about listening to the “desires of its fanbase” according to chief executive Harvey Elliot. The game has had great success in outperforming its Kickstarter goals, together with the team’s drive and “engaging world”, making the decision to add the devs to the Playstack family a “no-brainer”.

The Last Faithwill be coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in 2022. Make sure to stay tuned to Fextralife as we’ll be covering more of the game in future.
