Disney+ will launch with theirStar Warslive-action seriesThe Mandalorianlater this year. Disney has now confirmedThe Mandalorianwill be available to stream at the time of their launch, which has been confirmed for November 12 in the U.S. Disney is getting ready to launch into the streaming platform wars in a major way.

Today’sDisneyshareholders meeting has provided us with a lot of information.The Mandalorianis going to be a pretty big series for a debut and Jon Favreau promises it is a return to the style of the original trilogy, which sounds great forStar Warsfans. Other than that, information about the series is being kept under wraps. Thankfully, the first logo for the series has been revealed and it looks in line with the franchise, featuring the titular character in the text.

In other Disney+ news, it was announced theFalcon and Winter Soldierseries is officially happening and it will be out within the streaming platform’s first year. It is believed Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will be reprising their iconic roles, but it isn’t clear when production will start. However, withAvengers: Endgameon the way at the end of this month, one can assume the new series will begin production soon. For now, it seems the show is in the very early stages of development with casting likely happening next.

Disney also unveiled what the interface with look like forDisney+when it arrives later this year. It has the basic look of the Netflix-style layout with recommended titles and user choices, but it offers subgroups, includingStar Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney, and National Geographic. It all looks very slick and there will more than likely be some changes before the official launch, but as it stands, this is all pretty big news for the studio, which just acquired Fox and is working on bringing some of those properties to the streaming platform too, like the recently announcedLove, Simonseries.

In addition toThe Mandalorian, Disney+ will also have theupcoming Clone Wars series, which is highly anticipated. Fans will get a look at the new addition this weekend, thanks toStar WarsCelebration in Chicago. And in addition to theFalcon & Winter Soldierseries, it looks like theLokiseries,Scarlet Witch and Vision, and theHawkeyeseries are all in various stages of development at the moment. Netflix has dominated the streaming business in recent years, but it looks Disney could end up rocking the boat quite a bit when it debuts later this year.
