Honkai: Star Railhas many exciting battles, but nothing hits harder than a tough boss fight. For some of these boss fights, it’s not enough to just level up yourcharacters. You have to think about how they work together, what skills to use, and when to strike. Some bosses will overwhelm you with nonstop attacks while others wait for the perfect moment to land a big blow.
Honkai: Star Rail - Every Planet, Ranked (So Far)
With there now being multiple planets and story arcs in the game, an obvious question arises: which one is the best?
Each of these hard bosses forces you to play smarter. you’re able to’t just spam skills or hope for the best. You have to learn their patterns and break their shields before they do something dangerous. Some of them use status effects that weaken your team, while others can boost their own power and make your job even harder. If you bring the wrong team, you’ll know it fast. But if you build your squad the right way, time your attacks well, and don’t panic, you can win.

8Doomsday Beast
Fights with Different Body Parts
Doomsday Beast is a giant mechanical monster with three different parts you have to fight at the same time: the main body, a massive hand, and a floating eye. Each one attacks on its own, making the battle feel like you’re fighting a full squad, not just one enemy. The hand hits hard with Physical damage and smashes through shields. The eye uses Wind-based attacks that can hit everyone at once. The main body controls the big finishers. It’s protected by the other parts, so you may’t just focus it from the start. You need to break down each piece.
This boss pushes you to learn how to spread your focus. If you ignore the side parts, they’ll keep buffing the main body or throw out painful attacks. Using Fire, Ice, or Wind characters helps, especially if they hit multiple enemies at once. AOE damage really shines in this fight.

7Harmonious Choir - The Great Septimus
Summons Echoes of Faded Dreams
The Great Septimus is more about timing than brute force. The fight is split into three phases, and in the first two, he summons Echoes of Faded Dreams. These echoes must be destroyed quickly, because until you do, you won’t be able to break the boss’s toughness. If the echoes last too long, they delay your turns or block your energy gain.
Honkai: Star Rail - Apocalyptic Shadow Endgame Guide (Locust’s Instigation)
Need help with Honkai: Star Rail’s Apocalyptic Shadow in version 3.0? Our guide has everything you need to clear all 4 Locust’s Instigation stages!
Once echoes are down, you focus on the boss. His weakness lies in Fire, Lightning and Imaginary, so bring characters that hit those elements. Weakness breaking becomes your main tool. Breaking his toughness bar gives you a free turn and prevents his big attacks from triggering. In later phases, if you fail to break at the right time, he loads up a powerful combo that can wipe your team. Bringing healers or cleansing units helps you survive his Alien Dream status or turn delays.

6Starcrusher Swarm King - Skaracabaz
Fights with Small Bug-Like Creatures
The Starcrusher Swarm King starts by summoning Gnaw Stings, which are the little creatures that keep distracting you. In phase two, he adds Lesser Stings. Together, they chip away at your team and give him more chances to strike hard. His own attacks cause Entanglement, slowing your characters and messing up your rhythm.
The longer you leave his summons alive, the harder the fight gets. It becomes harder to focus damage on him because the bugs keep stealing your attention. But if you ignore him and focus too much on the summons, he’ll crush your frontliners with strong Physical moves. You’ll need AoE damage and units that can shield or heal through pressure. Physical and Ice characters work best, since they can handle both him and his minions. Keep an eye on status effects and try to cleanse debuffs when needed.

5Cocolia, Mother of Deception
Stalls You with Her Lances
Cocolia controls ice and illusion. She uses both to slow down your team and protect herself. At the start of the fight, she summons two giant lances. These lances block you from breaking her weakness, so you’re able to’t really hurt her until they’re gone. She also hits hard with skills like “Soulrend Coldstream,” a huge Ice attack that can freeze your characters. Her ultimate move, “Last Choir of Genesis,” deals big damage to everyone and can break weaker teams in one turn if you’re not prepared.
In her second phase, she becomes more aggressive and loses some defense, but gains new attacks that deal Imaginary damage and cause Imprisonment (a status that delays turns). She sometimes charges up powerful moves in advance, so you’ll need to time your skills well to stop her. The key to winning is to take out her lances quickly. Once they’re gone, you can start wearing her down. Fire, Lightning and Quantum characters work best here. If you bring units that resist freeze or cleanse debuffs, you’ll have an easier time.

4Shadow of Feixiao and Ecliptic Inner Beast
Fights with Four Parts: Shadow of Feixiao, Nebula Devourer, Planeshred Claws, and Worldpurge Tail
ThisFeixiao boss fightfeels wild. Feixiao and the Inner Beast are made up of four components: Shadow of Feixiao, Nebula Devourer, Planeshred Claws, and Worldpurge Tail. All share one HP and one toughness pool. That means hitting any of them fills the same bar. Each part attacks independently with different elements, but they all buff each other when one triggers a follow-up action. If you don’t break toughness before their enhanced attack sequence, they mash your team hard.
Honkai: Star Rail - The Legend of the Galactic Baseballer Guide
Out of the many events that cycle through Honkai: Star Rail, this is one of the most fun.
To beat this guy, pick teams with Physical, Fire, or Quantum damage. Devices like Follow-Up attackers work well because Feixiao bases her power on getting extras. Breaking the toughness bar at the right time stops their big AoE move called “Wreathed in Storm” and the final “Sweep the Heavens” burst. If you hold off on breaking, you’ll take full damage from both combined, which can be deadly.
3Ten Stonehearts - Aventurine of Stratagems
Plays High Damage Gambles
Aventurine tests your nerve by turning every round into a gamble. He summons floating tokens called All or Nothings. In phase one, someone from your team enters the gamble: attack the token, roll higher than him, and that character instantly refills their Ultimate gauge; roll lower, and they take big Imaginary damage and may suffer Imprisonment. Meanwhile, teammates who didn’t join get hit with Reverberation, delaying their turns. In phase two, every time you strike a token you enter the gamble, and if you lose you face massive Imaginary damage plus debuffs that increase damage taken.
Aventurine also uses powerful attacks like “Heavy Stakes” and “Points Fountain” that damage and drain Energy. His damage becomes stronger the more you lose his games. If you ignore his mechanics, he’ll break your team down piece by piece. What makes him so tricky is how he mixes chance with control. Even when you win, he keeps the pressure high. You’ll need a mix of strong Energy characters and tanks to survive the long fight.
2Sublime, Radiant, Avatar of the Sky
Manipulates the Battlefield with Heat, Lightning, and Dangerous Status Effects
This boss encounter is built around a changing battlefield. Early on, the fight is crowded with Daythunder Ravens, which ramp up Temperature. Higher Temperature raises burn damage and boosts the boss’s Flaming AoE skills. Later, thundercloud stacks appear. So you need to clear them or they’ll trigger massive Lightning strikes with elemental scaling based on how many stacks linger.
To begin, clear Ravens fast using AoE attacks so Temperature stays low. Once Thunderclap triggers, focus on removing thundercloud stacks with multi-target damage before they explode. In Phase 3, a special buff called Healing Rainbow becomes active and is the only way to cure Tide‑Corrosion, which is basically a debuff you get on death blow that can wipe you out on the next hit. If Tide‑Corrosion stays, the only remedy is that special heal. The boss is weak to Physical, Ice, and Quantum, so use those elements to break toughness quickly. Running characters that can cleanse or heal often is essential, because the field’s burn and lightning pressure layer rapidly.Hyacineis not the best character for this fight, but pairing him with strong Physical or Quantum carries helps flooding of elements.
1Phantylia the Undying
Three-Phase Boss with Deadly Flower Summons
You’ll face Phantylia in three phases, and each gets harder the longer the fight goes. In phase one, she brings out two Abundance Lotuses. These flowers can heal and support her. You’ll need to take them down fast or she’ll outlast you. In phase two, she switches them with Destruction Lotuses, which hit harder and are more dangerous. In the final phase, both flower types show up together. That’s when things get wild.
Phantylia also switches her weakness types across phases. So you may’t rely on just one damage element. You need a team with flexible options. If you can’t keep up with her changes, she’ll overwhelm you with AoE damage and Entanglement effects that slow you down. So bring healers, crowd control and different damage types.
