As you explore the world of V Rising, you’ll pick up tons of loot and increase your gear score, but your old items will go to waste if you don’t dismantle and salvage them. Here’s our V Rising guide to help you dismantle items to reacquire materials using The Devourer.
How to salvage and dismantle items in V Rising
The only way to salvage and dismantle items in V Rising is touse The Devourer. To build The Devourer, you’ll need to first unlock it bydefeating a boss named Lidia the Chaos Archer. She is a level 30 boss so make sure you’re at least level 30 before trying to defeat her. This is also how youget the Longbow.
Lidia the Chaos Archer is foundpatrolling along the path between the small Bear Territory and Bandit Camp areas in Farbane Woods. This is a roaming boss, so your exact location for Lidia the Chaos Archer may differ from mine. Look southwest ofBandit Copper Minewhich you’ve likely visited earlier and use the V Blood chart to track her.

Once you’ve constructed The Devourer inside your base boundaries, place any item that you no longer need inside it. After a few seconds, it’ll chew through your discarded equipment andreturn a portion of the raw materialsthat were used in crafting (i.e., Animal Hide, Stone, Lumber, and more). you may even use The Devoureron Steam Deck, although it is a bit trickier.
