Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2will not have an open beta. Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have issued a statement explaining that the team is focused on preparing the game for its release on September 9th, and organizing a beta before that would distract them from the goal of launching the game in the best possible shape.

With its spectacular trailers and images,Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2has become one of the most anticipated video games of the year. It will be released on September 9th forPS5, Xbox Series, and PC, but an online open beta to test its multiplayer modes was originally planned. However, today it has been announced that this beta will no longer take place.

The sequel toWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine,originally developed byRelic Entertainment, was announced in 2021 with a release date set for 2023. However, the game was delayed until 2024.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Cancels Its Open Beta

In May 2024, the different game modes were revealed in a trailer, where we saw a new cooperative multiplayer mode, where three players work together on various missions.

Additionally, the return of its PVP mode, where two teams of six Marines face off, was confirmed. Players can choose between six different classes in both modes and customize their weapons and specialties.

Additionally, not all news is bad: in the same statement where they announced the cancellation of the beta, the developers ofWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2released a six-minute extended gameplay video showcasing the various game modes, both single-player and multiplayer. It was also confirmed that the online mode will have dedicated servers in various regions.
